Dr. Mason
Holly was raised in Simi Valley, California and lived for a short while in the Antelope Valley Desert prior to moving to Northern California in 1998. She stayed in the Davis area for the next 9 years learning about and working with the horse. She had wanted to be an equine veterinarian since elementary school and tailored her education and extracurricular activities to head in that direction. As a young teenager she had an American Quarter Horse and rode western pleasure and trail. More recently she has shown yearling Mules in halter and parade classes at Mule Days in Bishop, CA (www.muledays.org). She comes from a western riding background where she happened to develop quite an affection for the Mule, whom in addition to many common english and western riding events compete in unique classes such as coon jumping, chariot racing and log skidding to name a few. For lack of a mount, she does not currently ride, but does plan to breed and ride her own Saddle Mules in the near future. The abundant and diverse equine population of Chester County was certainly a driving factor in relocating to this area. Additionally, her husband holds an academic research position at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square. Her children for the time being are her Boston terrier "Mickey" and Labrador retriever "Pancho". During free time she and her husband like to explore wine and the culinary arts. While acclimating to the new area you may see her at some of the regional equine competitions and local fairs. |
