	John W. Lee, Jr. DVM John W. Lee Jr. DVM received his Bachelor's of Science from the University of Delaware and graduated in 1974 from Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He established Chadds Ford Animal Hospital in 1978 and founded Unionville Equine Associates in 1983.
	Steven J. Berkowitz, VMD Steven J. Berkowitz, VMD graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 after receiving his Bachelor of Science there in 1977. He worked as a research assistant and laboratory technician at New Bolton Center and upon graduation worked at an equine veterinary clinic in Creamridge, New Jersey. Dr. Berkowitz has been with our practice since 1984. He lives in Lancaster County with his wife Susan.
	Patricia E. Blakeslee, VMD Patricia E. Blakeslee, VMD is a 1988 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania school of Veterinary Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University. After working as an intern and resident in Field Service at New Bolton Center she joined the practice in 1990. Dr. Blakeslee received certification in Animal Chiropractic in 1998 and Equine Acupuncture in 2003.
	Susan A. Crane, VMD Susan A. Crane, VMD received her BS from the University of New Hampshire in 1974, an MS in immunology from the University of Delaware in 1980 and her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. She worked as an intern, resident, lecturer and then assistant professor at New Bolton Center in Field Service. She merged her own practice with Unionville Equine Associates in 2002.
	Christine M. Foster, DVM Christine M. Foster, DVM received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Mount Holyoke College in 1992. Upon graduation, she worked as a research technician at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a 2001 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and joined the practice in June of 2001.
	Mark T. Donaldson, VMD, DACVIM Mark T. Donaldson, VMD, DACVIM a native of Chester County, received his Bachelor of Science from Villanova University and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After completing an internship at the University of Georgia he returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency in Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He joined the practice in January of 2005.
	Holly M. Mason, DVM Holly M. Mason, MS, DVM is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, most recently earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2007. In 2000, she completed a BS in Animal Science followed by an MS in Animal Science emphasizing Equine Reproductive Endocrinology in 2003. During her tenure at UC Davis she was employed at the Center for Equine Health and at the Large Animal Intensive Care Unit of the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as an Equine Health Technician. Prior to entering veterinary school, she served as Manager of the UC Davis Animal Science Horse Barn with duties including breeding management and instructor. Having joined Unionville Equine Associates, P.C. in 2007, she has taken up residence nearby with her husband and two dogs while looking forward to life and work in Chester County.
	Jill B Acland, VMD Jill B. Acland, VMD received her B.S. in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending veterinary school she pursued a career in sales and marketing in the equine and pet health industries. While contemplating an advanced business degree Jill realized her dream to become a veterinarian was more important. During veterinary school she participated in the summer veterinary student externship at Unionville Equine Associates. Her clinical interests include equine reproduction, sports medicine and internal medicine. In their free time Jill and her husband enjoy tiring out their three Jack Russell Terriers at terrier trials, hiking and biking. Jill also enjoys riding her Thoroughbred mare and hopes to start entering paper chases and local hunter/jumper shows this Fall.
	Donna Preston Moore, DVM, MS Donna Preston Moore, DVM, MS is a 1986 graduate of the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She was practicing in nearby Monkton, Maryland while obtaining a Master of Science degree in Equine Sports Medicine from Virginia Tech in 2003. She joined the practice in March of 2004.

Office Staff

	Nicole Benzinger Office Manager Email: nlb@ueavet.com Nicole is a lifelong resident of Chester County Pennsylvania, graduating from Avon Grove High School in 1991. Having been born with a love of horses she has been involved with them on some level since starting to ride at age six. Her favorite pastimes are riding cross country for pleasure, listening to the waves at the beach or any kind of fishing. She has been with Unionville Equine Associates since the fall of 2000.
	Valerie Freese Accounting Clerk Email: vdf@ueavet.com Valerie was born and raised in Chester County, growing up as a country girl on a dairy farm. While attending college she worked part time at Unionville Equine Associates and a small animal practice. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in animal science she joined Unionville Equine fulltime in the fall of 1999. Valerie enjoys trail riding and showing her Arabians at local amateur breed shows. She competes in Hunter Pleasure, Native Costume and Saddleseat. In addition to competing at horse shows she competes with her Cardigan Corgi Eddie at Agility Trials.
	Doris Holbrook Secretary, Reception Email: djh@ueavet.com Doris was born and raised in West Grove, PA. After spending many years working in human medicine she joined our staff in December of 2003. She has raised four children, who all reside in the immediate area. Most of her spare time is spent with the loves of her life, grandson Daulton who is six, two year old drama queen Carlee, and her four legged grandson, Doberman puppy Lance.
	Karen Webb Administrative Assistant/Web Master Email: klw@ueavet.com Karen joined Unionville Equine Associates in the spring of 2006. Originally from Delaware she and her husband relocated to Chester County in 2002. She enjoys spending time on her small farm with her many animals which include a horse, a cow, goats and chickens. She is an avid dressage rider with her partner Kapi a Lipizzan Thoroughbred gelding.
	Sue Downing Communications Secretary Email: sad@ueavet.com Sue joined UEA in October 2008 after spending many years in the medical billing field. Originally from Delaware County PA, she moved with her husband to a small farm in Cochranville in 2003. She enjoys trail riding with her young Morgan as well as walking with her two rescue dogs Indy and Bristol.

	Erinn Brown Clinic Technician Email: ecb@ueavet.com Erinn was born and raised in Bensalem, PA. She attended Harcum College for Veterinary Technology and graduated in 1998. She then began working at University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center, then as a Veterinary Tech at Delaware Equine and joined Unionville Equine Associates in the spring of 2006. Erinn enjoys riding her eleven year old stanardbred, Nathan. They both can be found trial riding, paper chasing and at local schooling shows.
	Melissa Haines Clinic Technician Email: mah@ueavet.com Melissa was born and raised in Cecil County, MD and joined UEA in September 2008. She graduated from high school in 1993 and went to work with Dr. Klobia Carroll on a racehorse farm for 5 years. From there she then went on to run her own boarding facility for 5 years and also worked for Applebrook Veterinary Clinic. The last five years she has spent a lot of time eventing her Thoroughbred gelding, Pepperjohn. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter Brooke who is three and a half and who has been a great impression on her life.
	Juli Wilkison Email: jmw@ueavet.com Juli is a Florida native who just recently relocated with her husband to Cecil County, Md. She has fallen in love with the area and the people and is now here to stay. Juli graduated from Sweet Briar College in 1996 with a degree in Biology. After college, she spent five years working in a small animal veterinary clinic, before going to work in accounting. She is very happy to be back in the veterinary field where she can put her training and degree to good use. Juli enjoys endurance riding, and is looking forward to getting her young Paso Fino/Arab cross ready for competitions.
